More than 70% of our wine production is exported in over 40 countries around the world.

 

  Halewood Romania owns vineyards in the most important Romanian wine regions:

300 ha  in  Dealu Mare, one of Romanian’s finest wine regions for production of quality red wines, situated  on the 45° parallel as other two famous wine region of Europe, Bordeaux (France ) and Tuscany (Italy) ; 150 ha  on the Transylvanian Plateau ( Sebes and Aiud) - surrounded by the Carpathian  Mountains and a further 100 ha in Murfatlar region  near the Black Sea coast.

 

The seven cellars located  in the above wine regions ensure excellent conditions for the maturations of red wines in both traditional large oak cask and barriques. To discover the intimate life of the wine and cellars, the Urlateanu Winery 1922 and the Rhein 1892 sparkling wine cellar at Azuga are opened for tasting tours, providing initiation in the art of wine tasting along with excellent traditional food in a 19th century setting. In Azuga winecellar  accommodation is  also  available.

 

Following an investment program of over 15 million euro into modern production facilities and vineyards, the wines produced at Halewood Romania under the Prahova Valley, Byzantium, Blue Danube or Cherry Tree Hill brands have obtained international recognition and acclaim.

 

In the last three years the Halewood’s wines were awarded with gold and silver medals at the most important wine competitions: the 1999^th Pinot Noir Special Reserve Prahova Valley has received the Great Gold Medal at Mondial Du Vin - in Bruselles 2002, the highest prize ever achieved by a Romanian wine.
